K-9 assists in arrest of Summerfield woman on drug charges

A 31-year-old Summerfield woman was arrested on drug charges early Wednesday morning in Lady Lake.

Andrea Michelle Butler had been driving a Cadillac with an inoperable taglight shortly after 1 a.m. on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at Griffin View Drive, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. A K-9 alerted on the vehicle, prompting a search which turned up cocaine, Alprazolam and Tizanidine.

She was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a drug without a prescription. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,000 bond.
