John Dennis “Denny” Brennan, Sr., 76, of The Villages, FL, peacefully passed from this life Friday, April 20, 2018. Born in Oak Park, IL, he was the firstborn son of the late Harold and Esther (Stenzel) Brennan.
Denny served his country in the Army National Guard in Chicago during the late 1960s. He worked in the real estate industry for most of his life and enjoyed a successful career in sales.
Denny and his family moved from the Chicago area to Central Florida in 1984. He was a faithful communicant of St. Mark the Evangelist Church, Summerfield, FL.
Denny celebrated life through his love of family, appreciating the company of family and friends over a delicious meal, traveling and cruising, and enjoying his World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. His sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to all he met.
Denny leaves his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary (Donnelly) Brennan. He will be lovingly remembered by sons, John (Laureen) and Mike (Gina), daughters, Jeanne (Jim Bradley) and Trish (Paul Ahrens), and niece Lisa (Andy Miner).  Proud Papa of Haley, Kevin, Katie, Jack, Christina, Michael, Meghan, Colin and Finn. Fond brother to Jim (Diane) and the late Tom (Peg), and dear brother-in-law to John Donnelly (the late Nan). Uncle Denny leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and cherished friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 7081 SE Hwy. 42, Summerfield, FL. Reception immediately following. Committal Services will be held afterward at Lone Oak Cemetery, Leesburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice or a COPD foundation.
