Janet M. Walter

Janet M. Walter, age 77, of Belleview, Florida, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Florida surrounded by family.
Janet was born in Owosso, Michigan on June 8, 1940, the youngest of five children of Lester James and Ernestine (Kurrle) Lundie.

She lived in Angola, Indiana for 23 years before moving to Florida in 1995.  From 1977 to 1995 she worked at Angola State Bank, Angola, Indiana.  In 2002 she retired after 25 years in the banking industry in Indiana and Florida.  Janet was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.  She was also part of a quartet group, Sunny Side Up, with her sister Louise.

Survivors include daughters Elizabeth Ann Shannon and husband Terry of Kuna, Idaho; Julie Lee Parrish and husband Reginald of Phoenix, Arizona; sons Theodore Lee Walter and husband Jim Renegar of Seattle, Washington; Steven James Walter and wife Tara of Ashley, Indiana; five grandchildren: Joan Palikhel and husband Aayush of Malad City, Idaho; Michelle Shannon of Moscow, Idaho; and Morgan, Kaleb, and Addison Walter of Ashley, Indiana; two sisters: Lila Smalec of Elsie, Michigan and Louise Clark and husband Jim of The Villages, Florida; her friend and partner of 17 years, William “Bill” Cretul of Ocala, Florida and Bill’s daughter, Tammy Lolly of Ocala, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents , brother Leon Lundie and sister Celia Gregory.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at New Covenant United Methodist Church, The Villages, Florida with service to follow at 2 p.m. officiated by Ellen Pollock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  Another service will be held in Janet’s memory in Angola, Indiana at a future date.  Please email: tbwalter16@gmail.com for additional information.
