Intoxicated 77-year-old Villager arrested after altercation in Barrineau Villas

An intoxicated 77-year-old Villager was arrested Monday afternoon after an altercation in the Barrineau Villas.

Helga Gertrude Brown is facing a charge of battery following her arrest at her home on Barrineau Place.

She used both her hands to push a man in his chest area knocking him into some dining room chairs, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.

She was released Tuesday after posting $250 bond.
