If Trump’s America is so evil, then why do immigrants continue their perilous journey to our shores?

To the Editor:

It is time to shut it down, this mendacious madness we call the #Never Trump movement. It is nothing more than an ancient Roman trick, to distract with “bread and circus,” by people who have nothing more to offer; coupled with a desperate desire to mask their past failures.
The melodramas, abound such as the Mueller investigation or the obscene lies surrounding the immigration debate. Let’s not forget the continuing and salacious coverage of allegations concerning Trump’s alleged past liaisons which, if true, are repulsive but immaterial or irrelevant because they have no nexus to Trump’s campaign or election. But opposition always has a Plan B and so they decided to falsely label this payment as misuse of campaign funds. Yet, these same hypocritical accusers refuse to make public the list of House members and senators who over the years used taxpayers’ money to hush up and pay settlements for their sexual harassment indiscretions as they actively served.  What do you suppose the oppositions next trumped up Trump complaint will be?  We do not know but it is certain to be more bread and circus.
The movie “The Oxbow Incident” (circa 1943) is instructive as it underscores the unintentional and serious consequences wherein people cannot distinguish between their outrage and claims of criminality by men and women, elected, appointed or hired and sworn to uphold the Constitution.  The leadership of the CIA, DOJ, and FBI had allowed themselves to be immersed in politics, anger, emotion, bias, and revenge creating what the media terms errors in judgment but which are factually crimes. In that, Mueller’s investigation was tainted at its inception by political bias, from the same people investigating both the criminal acts of Hillary Clinton and the alleged collusion (not a crime) of Donald Trump.
The Justice Department’s Inspector General, Michael Horowitz had  taken measure when reporting his findings, that is to say toned his report down. Yet just in addressing the leaks coming from the FBI, required full attachments and charts to list the entire communications and circular sourcing by and between FBI employees and the press. This is a serious breach of both protocol and trust and its’ cause was insubordination and bias from the leadership of the CIA, DOJ and FBI who conspired with Teams Obama and Clinton.  How else to explain agents sworn to uphold the law but taking it upon themselves to exonerate Hillary Rodham Clinton to ensure she would be elected.  How else to explain the continuing resistance from these agencies even under subpoena to fully, factually and in a timely manner comply with the production of documents and interrogatories requested by various congressional committees.  We should not have to be reminded here that we are a Republic, a nation governed by laws and not by men.
How else to explain the fanciful but patently false accounts concerning immigration?  If Trump’s America is so evil then why do immigrants continue their perilous mecca to our shores? This nation’s immigration policy is and has been ineffective for many years.  Our congressional leaders could with the stroke of a pen return this process to order.  But these congressional cowards refuse to act because to act would show their past failings.  And so trans- national billionaires continue to push their profitable planned agenda of a borderless America. And, criminal cartels unload their product, drugs or sex slaves with impunity. These lawless acts being committed at the border cannot stand. We must have a return to order.  But, what stops us? The opposition’s usual fearmongering and when fear is pervasive, options are limited and expensive. And in doing so, these circus promoters block every attempt by a non-politician who they fear will demonstrate just how ineffectively they have governed for so many years.
Politics is a process of compromise through which different points of view are contested and if a compromise cannot be reached then our Constitution wisely provides an orderly remedy “the election process”.  And, contained within that election process is the belief, and the necessity of an orderly transfer of power.  We are not a banana republic nor should we be subscribing to blood libel tactics where if one disagrees, an opponent is eliminated by some phony criminal investigation or continuing malicious, meritless, and meaningless attacks whose sole purpose is to oust from power a political enemy.
It would be wise and fair to withhold judgment on this president as we have always extended such courtesy in the past with previous presidents giving them an opportunity and a fair amount of time to cultivate and develop their strategies and policy.   But such expectations seems remote because we cannot expect serious thought from the opposition whose ranks are filled with less than serious and spiteful people who intentionally ignore their first obligation to this nation which is “first do no harm.”
