History is written by victors

To the Editor:

Winston Churchill replaced Neville Chamberlain after his disastrous appeasement strategy with Hitler’s Germany. Chamberlain was heralded as a champion of world order after signing the Munich agreement with Hitler. Similarly, Obama was also credited with quelling world tensions after his many years of appeasements with Russia, Iran, Syria, China, and North Korea. These appeasements, along with Obama’s policies resulting in deteriorating military preparedness and weakened industrial capacity, led to the Trump presidency. Churchill replaced sheepish appeasement with hard fought victory.
Today, Trump is restoring our military & economic strength – and America wins. Trump is also systematically dismantling years of international appeasements – and the world wins. Churchill promised he would “never surrender,” and he won. Today, Trump is victorious with each campaign promise kept, and then more. As Churchill said, “History is written by victors.”
