To the Editor:
I feel many emotions since the mass shooting in Parkland. Sadness, grief, but mostly ANGER. Our political leaders(?) are gutless! They value gun manufacturers and money over human life.
Adult leadership on correcting the problem is nonexistent. I expect them to act like adults but I guess I expect too much. Until it impacts them directly they turn their back and hope that time will be on their side for doing nothing.
Where is the religious community in this matter? Isn’t there a moral component to avoiding murder? I’m waiting for their voices to be heard. Instead, I find silence. How sad is that!
The good emotions I feel are the joy and hope I find in the outcry of the students. They are showing the maturity our politicians lack by mobilizing to highlight the problem and create needed solutions. They are the citizens of today as well as tomorrow.
This is a snowballing movement which is long overdue. I am wholeheartedly in support of their efforts. I hope still have adults willing to join them. Something has to be done.
