The developer of Green Key Village gave Lady Lake leaders an idea of what the future holds for the solar-powered community on Lake Ella Road.

In February, Green Key Village opened a swimming pool, tennis and pickleball courts. The community, which is not age-restricted, already has 13 homes and two more homes are under construction, developer Greg Thomas of Mainsail Solutions Inc. told members of the Lady Lake Planning & Zoning Board on Monday evening.

On the drawing board are 24 courtyard-villa style home, he said.

“We are trying to build a nice community that will enhance Lady Lake,” Thomas said.

All Green Key homes are solar and generate all or more energy  than the homes need, he said.
