Golf cart collides with pickup truck near Village of Buttonwood

A golf cart collided with a pickup truck at about 5 p.m. at St. Charles Place and Pennecamp Drive near the Village of Buttonwood.

The pickup truck turned in front of the golf cart, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the golf cart was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck was cited for violating the right of way of the golf cart.

The damaged golf cart was removed from the scene by Village Kart Aide. It’s windshield had popped out as a result of the accident.
