Gloria Jean Guimont

Gloria (Hollen) Guimont, age 75, passed away on October 6 after a 7 ½ year battle with breast cancer at her home in The Villages, FL. She was born and raised in Prairie Farm, WI.

After graduating from high school and moving to Minneapolis she met her husband of 54 years, Dennis Guimont. Together they raised three loving children and six grandchildren.

Throughout her life, Gloria was a constant and selfless contributor to her communities. Her volunteer activities included church, civic, education, and fund-raising projects. While raising her family, she worked at Mpls. Chamber of Commerce, Whitney Management Co., and Haskells in Minneapolis. She was an avid gardener and her flowers were always the envy of her neighbors. She also enjoyed golf and her many social groups.

Survivors include husband Dennis, sister Arlene (Hollen) Irons, children: Vincent (Mary) Guimont, Grant Guimont, and Angela (Scott) Sandok.  Her grandchildren: Natalie, Colleen, Maria, Joseph, Anthony and Julia.  She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Antonette (Sirianni) Hollen and brother-in-law John Irons.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 215 S. 8th Street, Minneapolis at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017.  Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place in Hudson, WI.
