Gift cards, fireworks reportedly stolen from Wal-Mart in Summerfield

Gift cards and fireworks were reportedly stolen Thursday from the Wal-Mart in Summerfield.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies made contact with an employee at the Wal-Mart who advised that at about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 31  two black female suspects took two packages of fireworks to the electronics register. The suspects also took four gift cards. The employee stated that one of the suspects distracted the employee by asking him to show her where another item was. When the employee walked away from the register, one of the suspects reached  around the cash register and hit buttons, which opened the cash drawer and loaded the gift cards with the money. The fireworks were valued at $40.
