Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier reports live from The Villages

Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier reported live from The Villages Thursday evening at Lake Sumter Landing for his segment “Special Report.”

A flock of Villagers came to watch the Fox News personality, whom they usually watch on their screens, live in person for two hours behind Cody’s Original Roadhouse.

“I watch Fox News all day, all night,” said Marche-Anne Woods of the Village of Sanibel, who came with her husband Larry and daughter Bianca to watch one of her favorite Fox News personalities.

Before the start of his show, Baier greeted fans and even took selfies with a few.

Villager Ted LeDane of the Village of Glenbrook came over to Lake Sumter Landing as soon as he recognized while watching television that Baier was reporting from The Villages.

“I watch the show all the time. He’s so focused, so professional,” said Donna Bednarz who was visiting from Kinnelon, N.J. Bednarz calls herself a “big Fox News groupie.”

One of Baier’s biggest fans that attended the live event was his aunt Katheryn Scarito, who greeted her nephew with an embrace after his show. Scarito is the sister of his mother and currently resides in The Villages.

After the show’s conclusion, Baier headed over to the Barnes & Noble where he signed copies of his new book, “Three Days in January: Dwight Eisenhower’s Final Mission.”

Most of the fans that turned out to the live evening program also flocked to the Barnes & Noble to have their books signed.

Couple Georgann and Bob Ozbolt of the Village of Belvedere brought three books to have signed copies for relatives. The couple even has a 40-pound Dachshund mix that they have named after the Fox News personality.
