Forehead-poking man arrested after woman tossed onto air mattress during altercation

Sir Charles Anthony

A homeless man was arrested Sunday night after a woman reported being thrown onto an air mattress and repeatedly poked in the forehead.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on NE 52nd Court in Ocala after a woman reported that her daughter had been in a violent altercation with 24-year-old Sir Charles Anthony.

The daughter said the incident happened after she returned from purchasing food at a nearby Burger King. She said Anthony was waiting for her in the kitchen and said, “If you got something to say, so say it.” The daughter said she advised Anthony that if she had something, said she would do that, a sheriff’s office report states.

At that point, the daughter said, Anthony started yelling at her and poking her in the forehead. She said she pushed him away and that’s when he “picked her up and threw her on the mattress.” She said she then pushed him off her again and hit him.

Deputies initially were unable to make contact with Anthony, as he had left the residence shortly after the altercation. But they eventually located him in the 3000 block of NW Blitchton Road. He was taken into custody and after being read his rights claimed that the woman came at him with a knife, the report says.

Anthony was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with two counts of battery. He was being held on $500 bond on one count and no bond on the other and is scheduled to appear in a Marion County courtroom on Oct. 15 at 8 a.m. to answer to the charges.
