Florida Highway Patrol investigating accident in which two Ocala motorcyclists seriously injured

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident in which two Ocala motorcyclists were seriously injured.

Nicholas Greene, 37, and Scott Sylvia, 49, had both been riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles when the accident occurred at 12:30 a.m. Sunday on County Road 40A at County Road 40 in Levy County, according to an accident report.

For “unknown reasons,” both motorcyclists lost control of their bikes and laid them down 20 feet before a stop sign, the report said. Neither men had been wearing helmets.

The men were transported in a private vehicle to a medical facility in Marion County.

Both have been charged with failure to report an accident and careless driving. Greene was also charged with driving while license suspended.
