Firefighters attempt to extricate one of the drivers.

Lake County Fire Rescue was attempting to extricate two injured drivers from their vehicles following a five-vehicle collision at about noon Monday at the intersection of County Road 466 and Rolling Acres Road.

Lady Lake police officers were on the scene directing traffic, which initially backed up for nearly a mile on Rolling Acres Road immediately after the pileup.

A supervisor for Doc Holiday Home Improvement was mere feet from having his truck being involved in the crash.

He said he witnessed the accident and said he felt lucky to be standing on the sidewalk, watching firefighters attempting to pull the injured from the wreckage.

Lake EMS was also on the scene.
