FHP report identifies Villager killed in collision at Morse Boulevard and County Road 466

A report released late Tuesday night by the Florida Highway Patrol has identified the Villager who died as the result of a collision that morning at the intersection of Morse Boulevard and County Road 466.

Carol Gaetino, 73, died at The Villages Regional Hospital of injuries suffered in the crash. 

The Florida Highway Patrol was called in to investigate the accident.

She had been at the wheel of a 2017 Lexus which at 9:45 a.m. was in the left-turn lane of westbound CR 466 at the intersection of Morse Boulevard facing a steady green traffic control signal. Villager Donald Rogers, 71, was driving a 2016 Toyota Highlander and was traveling east on CR 466 in the inside lane approaching the intersection of Morse Boulevard, while facing a steady green traffic control signal. As Rogers neared the intersection, Gaetino’s vehicle proceeded to turn left onto Morse Boulevard and into the path of his vehicle.

The accident occurred Tuesday morning on County Road 466 at Morse Boulevard.

Rogers suffered serious injuries and was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital.
