Ernest Oberlin Corneliussen

Ernest Oberlin Corneliussen, 95, Lady Lake, FL, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018. He was born in Minnesota.

He was a WWII Army veteran, married his wife Betty in 1945. They owned and operated the Charloe store in Charloe, Ohio for 15 years. In 1962 they moved to Lady Lake, FL where they owned and operated Ernie’s Chevron Service Station in Lady Lake. He continued to work through his 80’s, never really retiring. Ernie was known as a “Jack of all trades.”

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty in 2007, sister Darlene Gemlick, infant sister Millie Elizabeth Corneliussen and brother Ralph “Rappy” Corneliussen.

Survivors include his daughters: Nylice Thomas (Bill), Paulding, Ohio; Margene Hopper (Doug), Belleview, FL; Lorene Sasser, Lady Lake, FL; and Tammy Goddard (Elvis), Tampa, FL; sons: Gene Corneliussen (Linda), Eustis, FL; Rick Corneliussen (Brenda), Ocala, FL; Dennis Corneliussen (Janie), Ocala, FL; 5 siblings: Florence Bishop, Ruth Dulva, Margaret Iwen, Marvin Corneliussen, and Judy Vigesaa; 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation at the Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Leesburg, FL. Interment with Military Honors will be in Lady Lake Cemetery.
