An employee’s vehicle was burglarized this past Friday while parked at a restaurant in The Villages.
The 20-year-old’s Kia Spectra had been parked from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday while she was working at Sammy Joe’s restaurant at Mulberry Grove in The Villages.
Stolen from the car were her jacket and wallet, which contained her checkbook. She was notified by her bank that her account was overdrawn and learned that someone had written a check for $307.49 from her account at Wal-Mart in Summerfield, according to an incident report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
