Employee of popular Villages restaurant arrested

An employee of a popular Villages restaurant was arrested after he was caught for the third time driving without a license.

Abel Herrera-Garcia, 41, of Lady Lake, who is employed at Amerikanos Grille in Spanish Springs Town Square, had been driving a blue Dodge pickup at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday when he was pulled over at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Rolling Acres Road, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

When he was asked for his driver’s license, Herrera-Garcia replied, “I don’t have one.”

He has previously been convicted of driving without a license in 2016 and 2017.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.
