Employee at Galaxy Home Solutions arrested on felony charges in connection with theft

An employee at Galaxy Home Solutions has been arrested on felony charges in connection with the theft of copper wire from his employer.

Wildwood police responded Tuesday morning to the business at 847 S. Main St. where 59-year-old Michael Wayne Fitzpatrick was in the conference room with the business owner. Officers heard Fitzpatrick admitting to his employer that he had taken copper wire from the business, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

He had been captured on video surveillance when he sold the copper wire at Dominion Metals.

Fitzpatrick was arrested on charges of grand theft and dealing in stolen property.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $4,000 bond.
