Dunkin’ Donuts manager arrested after alleged theft of $1,700 from safe

Margrat Janet Richardson

A manager of Dunkin’ Donuts in Wildwood has been arrested after the alleged theft of $1,700 from the restaurant’s safe.

Dunkin Donuts was reconciling its books when it was discovered that deposits had not been made on Aug. 17 and 18, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

A manager, 29-year-old Margrat Janet Richardson, admitted to deputies that she failed to make the deposits, but denied taking the money. When deputies attempted to followup with Richardson, she did not return phone calls. Deputies were told she had moved from her residence.

Richardson was located Friday afternoon in Coleman and arrested on a charge of grand theft. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $2,000 bond.
