Dottie E. O’Brien

Dottie E. O’Brien, 88, of Leesburg, Florida, went to be with her loving husband Kirby on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at The Villages Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Dottie was born on June 4, 1930 in Triadelphia, West Virginia to the late Nibert Lee and Katie Hartman.

Dottie was married many loving years to Kirby who preceded her in death on September 18, 2016.

Dottie liked to stay busy playing golf, crocheting, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. However, she also had a great passion of caring for her dogs Sam and Sara.

Dottie is survived by her three children; Bill (Susan) O’Brien of Lady Lake, Becky Craine of Leesburg and Barry O’Brien of Tavares; brother; Bob (Martha) Hartman; brother in-law; Charlie Cummings of Summerfield; sister in-law Karen Green (Bobby) of Tavares; 5 grandchildren, Chris (Jen), Jason (Erika), Megan (Mike), Kelly (Josh) and Kirby (Mandy); 17 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Joan; brothers Fred and Tony.

A memorial celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2017 at the Heritage Community Church, located at 509 W. Berckman St., Fruitland Park, FL 34731 at 10:45 a.m. with grandson Kirby O’Brien, II and Pastor Sidney Brock officiating. Friends may pay their respects at the church from 10 – 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Cornerstone Hospice in care of Dottie O’Brien.
