Dorothy P. Garren

Dorothy P. Garren

Dorothy P. Garren, 86, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Monroe, NC and moved to The Villages with her husband more than twenty years ago. For 30 years she enjoyed a career with the Burlington Times News, in Burlington, NC as the Office Manager, overseeing the accounting department. Dot had a heart of gold, always seeing the positive in everything and she was loved by everyone around her. She enjoyed playing the piano and going to the beach with her family, but most of all she just loved being a Mother and a Grandmother.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Arnold E. Garren and her parents, Clayton and Isabell Price. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Martha Jo Garren and two cherished grandchildren, Rachel E. Austin and Jacob A. Austin (Martha’s children).

She devoted her life to her wonderful husband of 58 years and was the very best Mother a child could ever have. The family she leaves behind is heartbroken and will love her and miss her forever.

A private service will be held at noon on February 15, 2018 at Beyer’s Funeral Home, Lady Lake, Florida. Afterwards, she will be laid to rest with her husband in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
