Deputy reunites wandering dementia patient with her husband in Village of Springdale

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy reunited a dementia patient with her husband Monday morning in the Village of Springdale.

The deputy found the 80-year-old woman wandering shortly before 11 a.m. on Simons Lane in the Village of Springdale. A call had been received indicating the woman was wandering in the area and appeared confused, according to an incident report from the sheriff’s office.

About the same time the deputy found the woman, her husband called to report that she was missing. He was able to provide an address for their home on nearby Delia Place.

The man said he had gone to a tire shop for a repair of his vehicle and had been gone for about an hour. He said she had wandered off once before. He told the deputy he is working with an advocate to get her into an assisted living facility.
