Deputy called after couple throws notebook at each other in Spruce Creek South

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to Spruce Creek South on Tuesday morning after a verbal altercation broke out in a home located on SE 174th Loop.

According to an incident report, a man at the home told the deputy he had “had enough” from a woman at the home who had thrown a composition notebook at him, which struck him in the back. The man said he picked up the notebook and threw it back at the woman, also striking her in the back. The man also told the deputy that he didn’t strike the woman “with hands nor feet, only with the notebook.”

After the altercation, the man said he went back outside and continued to do lawn work.
The man said he wasn’t injured and refused medical treatment.
