Day-Break Club experiences joy, laughter during canine wedding thrown by Dynamic Dog Club

Wedding vows and bow wow kisses were exchanged Tuesday at the Odell Recreation Center during a canine wedding hosted by the Dynamic Dog Club for the Day-Break Club of The Villages.

After several years of knowing Mickey Mouse the Yorkie and playing “hard to get,” according to her owner Dotty Crain, Lollie the Pekingese finally said yes to marrying Mickey Mouse.

The other newly wedded couple, Chloe the golden retriever and Murray the labradoodle, has known each other for some time through training together in the club.

Murray’s owner Sara said he was so attached to Chloe that during parades he would not march without Chloe.

The two pairs consummated their relationships in a rather smooth wedding, with the exception of Lollie, who might have had some second thoughts on commitment after refusing to walk down the aisle.

Mickey Mouse’s best man was Maximus the English bulldog, while Murray’s best man was Sam the golden retriever. The maids of honor were Tinker Bell the Chihuahua and Munchkin the parti poodle, while serving as the ring bearer was Remi the border collie.

Following the wedding ceremony was a surprise rose ceremony. Maximus gave a rose to Munchkin, choosing her to be his lady.

Members in the audience then threw petals for the newly weds as they walked down the aisle, or in Mickey Mouse and Lollie’s case, rode down the aisle in their special carriage.
