Dalmatian euthanized after unexpected attack on fellow Villagers’ dog

A dog was euthanized after an unexpected attack on a dog owned by a fellow Villages’ couple.

Lola, a three-year-old Cairn Terrier, had stitches removed Thursday and continues to recover from the attack earlier this month in the Village of Country Club Hills.

Lola had been out for a walk Feb. 5 with her owners, a husband and wife who live on St. Andrews Boulevard, when a Dalmatian from a few doors down broke free and attacked the smaller dog, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Lola required a drain and stitches as a result of the attack.

The owner of the Dalmatian said she tethers the dog in the carport at her home on St. Andrews Boulevard and did not know how the dog broke free.

The woman said she had her dog euthanized at Mulberry Grove Animal Hospital. She also volunteered to pay for Lola’s veterinarian bill, according to the incident report. She was issued a written warning by Lady Lake Animal Control.
