Couple arrested in stolen vehicle after being spotted at CR466 and Morse Bouelvard

A man and a woman were arrested after they were spotted in a stolen vehicle Thursday morning on County Road 466 at Morse Boulevard.

Jeffrey Wayne Garven, 34, of Lady Lake, was a the wheel of the 2000 GMC Jimmy which had been reported stolen out of Leesburg. He was pulled over at 6:45 a.m. at Carrera Drive and Pueblo Place  by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy. The vehicle at one point had belonged to Garven, but it had been repossessed by Direct Auto Sales of Leesburg.

A woman who had been riding in the vehicle, 33-year-old Jessica Decker of Lady Lake, was also arrested after marijuana was discovered in her purse. She is facing a charge of possession of marijuana.

They were both booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She is free on $1,000 bond. He was being held on $2,000 bond.
