Lee Greenwood, best known for his patriotic song “God Bless the USA,” was one of the performers at President-Elect Trump’s “Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration” concert Thursday at the Lincoln Memorial.
The country singer brought his powerful hit, “God Bless the USA” to the event on the eve of Trump’s inauguration.
Greenwood said he considered it “a great honor and prestige” to be there.
It was the fourth time Greenwood performed at an inauguration event. The country singer has performed for presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.
He will also be performing at a dinner for Vice President Elect Mike Pence.
Greenwood is no stranger to The Villages. He has visited Florida’s Friendliest Hometown to sign copies of his children’s book, “Proud to be an American,” and performed at an Independence Day concert at the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center.
