Central Florida League Fall 2017 Season Highlights Week Nine

This week saw Paul Davis Restorations and Palm Ridge Dental continue to win and retain the top spot in the league standings. Softball’s R Game continues to find ways to pull out a win in the last inning.

Paul Davis scored six runs in the top of the seventh and held off FBC Mortgage to win 17-14.

Paul Davis got three hits each by: Mike Jeffries, Bob Buchanan, Mark Isom, John Barracato, Conrad Strassle, and Art Anton. FBC had four hits by their lead off man, Rocky Spottswod. Chipping in another three hits were: Howard Charney, Marty Berger, John Leone, and Jim Joseph.

Palm Ridge Dental scored five runs in each of the first three innings to build up a lead and beat IHOP 18-14.

Palm Ridge got four hits by Bruce Harlan and three more from Gary Nicolay and Gary Luck. Chipping in a pair of hits were: Don WInstead, Ed Haith, Ed DeMaio, Joe Mayer, Ron Parson, Ken Scanlon, and Bob Nyce. IHOP had three hits by Gary Roth and Ron Goldman. Adding a pair of hits were: Randy Bowen, Randy Godbold, Chuck Bowman, Rich Bergman, Maury Fjestad, Wayne Mallory, and Gary Coleman.

After six innings Synergy Wealth led Softball’s R Game 19-14.

Synergy failed to add to their lead in the top of the seventh and Softball’s R Game batted around to score 6 runs and win as Bob Holbert stroked an infield hit to drive in the last run. Synergy had four hits by Dale Neff and Bud Ramsey. Rick Duemler had a single, triple and homer to drive in four runs. Adding another three hits each were: Jim Gordon and Jim Rogers. Softball’s R Game had five hits by Bob Holbert and four each by: Scott Marshall, Pat Rice and Don Evans. Mike Hyott, Ray Bedford, Jim Stencil, and Bruce Harlan had three hits in the win.

The Firecrackers defeated Fross & Fross 19-17.

Led by the four hits by Manny Sanchez, Paul Justice and Mark Hildebrand the Firecrackers pulled ahead in the bottom of the sixth and held on for the win. Sub Jim White had a three run over the fence home run in the second inning. Don Brozcik had a triple and a pair of singles to drive in three more runs for the Firecrackers. Fross had four hits from John Gouin and George Loew. Pitcher, Duane Miller and Al Deibler chipped in three hits each. Sub Duane Broschat had a three run homer in the second and a pair of singles to drive in a total of five runs for Fross.

Humana held Babiarz Law scoreless for three innings and build up a nine run lead that they wouldn’t give up and won 19-10.

Ed Chirumbolo set the tone for the game by leading off the bottom of the first with a home run. He had four hits on the day to lead Humana. Chipping in three hits each were: Dave Oatley, Mark Rich and Dave Hinkley. Hinkley had a solo homer in the fourth to score the fifth run of the inning. Craig Dahlquist led Babiarz with four hits and three rbis. Jim Crabtree stroked three hits while Ken Link, Ed Moriarity, Carl McWilliams, and sub, Tom Ramberg had two hits each.

Arden Jewelers kept Gators Brownwood off the scoreboard until the fourth inning and won 12-5.

Arden got three hits from Rod Severson and Mark Hildebrand. Stroking a pair of hits for the winners were: Bill Reed, Jim White, and Tom Bortle. Gators had a pair of hits by Ken Atkinson, Jim Lambert, Mark Goodwin, and Fred Hughes.
