This week’s featured game saw Palm Ridge Dental defeat previously unbeaten Paul Davis Restorations 11-8 creating a tie for first place.
Palm Ridge’s Ed Haith had a single, triple and homer to drive in three runs. Joe Mayer also had three hits for the winners. Adding a pair of hits were: Ed DeMaio and John VanArnhem. Mike Jeffries, Mark Isom, and, manager, Jeff Bekasi led Paul Davis with three hits apiece. Chipping in another pair of hits were: Conrad Strassle, Jim Moyer, and Art Anton.
IHOP scored in every inning to defeat Arden Jewelers 18-11.
Banging out four hits each were: Randy Bowen, Chuck Bowman, and Rich Bergman. Adding three hits was Ron Goldman. Bob Jacques, Maury Fjestad, and Gary Roth each had two hits. Arden’s Bill Reed had four hits to lead his team. Chipping in a pair of hits were: Jack Nagle, Pete Davidson, Rod Severson, and Paul Isenberg.
Babiarz Law continues to win as they bested Gators Brownwood 17-8.
Ken Link batting first for Babiarz had a triple, homer and two singles to drive in four runs. Craig Dahlquist, Carl McWilliams, and sub, Dan MacPherson had three hits each. Adding a pair of hits were: Dan Coopman, Tom Brock, Bob Winder, Dennis Bauch, and John Plunkard. Ken Atkinson and Jim Lambert led Gators Brownwood with three hits. David Blandford, Tony Prettitore, and Fred Hughes had two hits each.
FBC Mortgage defeated Synergy Wealth by scoring five runs in the first & second innings for a 14-9 win.
Lead off man Rocky Spottswood had four hits for FBC and Tim WIlcox had three. Stroking a pair of hits were: Marty Berger, Howard Charney, John Leone, Ed Joseph, Gary DePalma, and Peter Daub. Synergy Wealth got four hits from Dale Neff, while manager, Vernon Brooks, and pitcher, Bud Ramsey, stroked three hits each. Chipping in with two hits were: Rick Duemler, John Reedy, Ed Shirk, and George Kennedy.
The Firecrackers got their second win of the season by besting Humana 13-10.
The Firecrackers started strong with five runs in the first and added four runs in the fourth thanks to two run homers from Don Brozick and Tom Ramberg. Ramberg, Ralph Furbush, and Mark Collette had three hits each. Smacking a pair of hits were: Manny Sanchez, Paul Justice, Brozick, Jack Meagher Tim Carroll, John Wyks, and Dan MacPherson. Humana had three hits by Ed Chirumbolo and Don Melcher. Tom McGann, Bob Roth, Jim Kitzler, Gary Lewis, and Vin Stebbins added a pair of hits for Humana.
The last game of the day was a slug fest between Fross & Fross and Softball’s R Game with Fross holding off a last inning comeback for a 22-20 win.
Fross clean up man, Alan Zahm had five hits to lead his team. Stroking four hits were: Ron Rowe and John Gouin. Three hits came off the bats of Wayne Grunewald and manager, Al Deibler. Softball’s R Game’s Mike Hyott had five hits to lead his team. Ray Bedford, Scott Marshall, Don Evans, John Buchanan, and Ed Krisha had three hits in the loss.
