A Community Development District supervisor said he has been receiving phone calls and emails in the wake of a decision earlier in the week about a fence.

The Project Wide Advisory Committee on Monday tabled a fence requested by a resident who has been annoyed by dogs and other activities on a three-acre parcel behind his Premier home south of County Road 466A. A large group of residents showed up at Monday’s meeting protesting PWAC’s earlier decision to spend thousands of dollars on the fence. For the moment, it has been tabled.

CDD 8 Supervisor Dennis Hayes, who serves on PWAC, on Friday updated his fellow supervisors on the meeting. Hayes said he has been receiving phone calls and emails in the wake of the decision to table the fence.

A golf cart is parked on a three-acre parcel off Morse Boulevard south of County Road 466A where a homeowner wants a fence constructed.

“It’s a very polarizing issue,” Hayes said.

He added that it isn’t so much about the fence as it is about the use of common areas.

Earlier on Friday, CDD 6 Supervisor and PWAC Chairman Peter Moeller said that what came through loud and clear at Monday’s PWAC meeting was residents’ unhappiness with the dog parks in The Villages.
