Car burglarized while parked at new Cody’s restaurant at Mulberry Grove Plaza

A car was burglarized while it was parked Wednesday at the new Cody’s restaurant at Mulberry Grove Plaza in The Villages.

A 34-year-old woman who lives in The Villages reported to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office that she left her purse covered on the rear floorboard of her vehicle between 10 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.  The motor of the rear window of her convertible is broken and the window remains in the down position.

Upon her return to the vehicle, she saw the purse had been overturned on the rear seat and that cash had been taken from it.

The restaurant is scheduled to open Dec. 26.
