A bicyclist was transported as a trauma alert to an Ocala hospital after an accident Monday morning in The Villages.
The bicyclist had been southbound at 10:36 a.m. on Buena Vista Boulevard at Old Mill Run when he fell from the bicycle, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He may have hit something in the roadway.
He suffered facial injuries and complained of hip pain.
He was transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
He had been wearing a helmet.
