Bernadette ‘Bonnie’ McKee

Bernadette “Bonnie” McKee, 70, passed from this life Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah (Sweeney) McAteer. Bernadette was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She retired as a medical office manager. She moved to The Villages from Newton, NJ with her husband Frank in 2008. She was most proud of her marriage of 48 years and her family. She enjoyed decorating her home for the seasons, socializing with her Villager neighbors and friends and playing golf. She leaves her husband Frank, sons, Francis G. McKee, Jr and his wife Nettie of Delray Beach, FL, Joseph McKee and his partner Heather Kirk and her daughter, Bella of Sparta, NJ, daughter, Jennifer Guthrie and her husband Paul of Newton, NJ. She also leaves five grandchildren, Taylor Jane, Amy Lynn, Ian, Sarah and Nate, her aunt, Alice McAteer of The Villages, FL, and sister-in-law Trudi Andrade of The Villages, FL. A gathering will be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 1 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. Burial will be private in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
