Belleview woman calls deputies to report cyber stalking and harassment

A Belleview woman called Marion County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday claiming that she is facing cyber harassment.

The woman, who lives in the Whispering Hills Mobile Home Park, told deputies that a man who moved out of her residence in January is constantly sending her text messages and calling her from a variety of different phone numbers. She told deputies that she also has been receiving friend requests from fake social media accounts. And she said she’s received numerous screen shots of her Facebook, Snapchat and Tinder profiles from various text numbers, blocked numbers and social media profiles.

The woman said she has told the man to stop contacting and harassing her. She said she has called the sheriff’s office in the past and was told there was no law enforcement action that could be taken. She was denied an injunction due to no violence, the report says.
