Belle Glade Country Club bandit makes run for it, pinned down on Micro Racetrack Road

A man suspected of an early morning Belle Glade Country Club robbery early Tuesday morning made a run for it after being pinned down most of the morning at a home in the Village of LaBelle North.

The suspect, who has not been identified, allegedly approached the night manager as he walked out of the country club early this morning carrying the night deposit.

Witnesses said the man got into a car and made a run for it. He crashed through a gate in the Village of Pine Hills and he was pinned down on Micro Racetrack Road.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office was out on Micro Racetrack Road.

Lt. Robert Siemer of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office was preparing to conduct a press conference early this afternoon.
