Barbara A. ‘Anne’ Schlereth

Barbara A. Schlereth, ” Anne”, 80, of The Villages, FL, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017.

She was born on March 25, 1937, in Cumberland, MD to her parents, John Creegan and Barbara (Meyers) Creegan.

Anne was a devout Catholic, dedicated kindergarten teacher, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She had a kind heart and generous spirit, befriending everyone she met.

She and her husband, Thomas Schlereth, retired to The Villages in 2004, where she participated in the St. Vincent de Paul and St. Mark’s Women’s Guilds, enjoyed water aerobics, and became a proud dog owner to “Sailor.”

She is survived by Tom, her husband of 56 years, her children: daughter Sharon and husband Thomas Criger of San Diego, CA, son Michael and wife Barbara of Westminster, MD, daughter Suzanne and husband Todd Showalter of Savannah, GA; sister Margaret and husband N. Richard Glover of Media, PA; sister Sally Coggins of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren: Bryan Criger and fiance Samantha Jensen, Frank Criger and wife Hannah; Rich Schlereth and wife Nichole, Eric Schlereth; and a large extended family.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in January 2018 and her final resting place will be Florida National Cemetery-Bushnell.

In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
