The Amenity Authority Committee has reached a decision on the Mulberry Dog Park.
The status of the dog park had been in question and even threatened after owners were not taking responsibility for keeping it up.
Earlier this year, AAC Chairman Carl Bell threatened to close it.
Recreation Director John Rohan at Wednesday’s AAC meeting clarified that staff checks IDs, open and closes the dog park and makes sure proper supplies and equipment and in place.

Dog owners need to pick up after their dogs, fill in holes their dog might dig and repair any damage dogs might do, he said.
Rohan held a meeting earlier this year with dog owners at the dog park and things have improved.
“We don’t have any desire to close that dog park. I would like to give them that reassurance,” said AAC member Ann Forrester.
She made a motion that the AAC remove any contingency on the Mulberry Dog Park.
The motion, seconded by AAC member Don Deakin, received a unanimous vote.
