The formal ceremony, which was held Thursday, May 10, and was conducted by Bishop Stanley J. Bilinski of the Western Diocese, involved deconsecrating the old altar, which had been in place for nearly two decades. That was followed by installation and consecration of the new altar, which features depictions of the Last Supper and representations of the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), as well as Alpha and Omega symbols.

The new altar is expected to serve the church for many years to come.
