A 43-year-old Altamonte Springs man was arrested by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy early Sunday morning on a charge of driving under the influence.

The sheriff’s office received a report of a reckless driver on State Road 91 near Exit 304.

The deputy pulled over Jeremy Adam Hartley who had been driving a 2013 Nissan Maxima. In addition to Hartley slurring his words, the deputy found three Bud Light Lime-A-Rita cans in the vehicle, the arrest report indicated.

Hartley refused to perform field sobriety exercises and was transported to the Sumter County Detention Centers, according to the arrest report.  A computer check revealed Hartley had previously been convicted of DUI in January 2008.

In addition to being charged with a second offense DUI,  he was also charged with refusing to submit to a DUI test for refusing to provide a breath or urine sample after his arrest Sunday.

He was jailed on $2,500 bond.
