Alarmed about Yamaha golf cart thefts in The Villages

To the Editor:

I am alarmed hearing about all the golf cart thefts in The Villages, people parking their carts at the squares, going grocery shopping etc.

Some keys are universal and fit all carts which is part of the problem. It seems that they are stolen quite easily and quickly. I called one of the dealers recently and they knew nothing about it.

I suggested to them that either Yamaha should come up with an anti-theft device for the carts or local dealers should  and add it to their options. They are too expensive to be able to be stolen that easily. I would pay for that option so I could have piece of mind knowing that my cart would be safe.
