Acclaimed actor Morgan Freeman made a surprise appearance Saturday at the graduation of his granddaughter at the University of Florida.
The 77-year-old actor quietly slipped into the O’Connell Center in Gainesville and snuck up behind his granddaughter, Alexis Freeman, on stage when she stepped up to receive her diploma. The crowd reportedly recognized Freeman and roared in surprise.
His granddaughter received her master’s degree in education.
Freeman is known for his roles in “Driving Miss Daisy” and “The Shawshank Redemption,” which recently marked its 20th anniversary.
