AAC chairman suggests joint workshop to discuss future of Recreation News

Amenity Authority Committee Chairman Carl Bell has suggested a joint workshop with the Project Wide Advisory Committee to discuss the future of Recreation News.

Last year, the AAC got a case of sticker shock when confronted with steep increases in the cost of producing the weekly insert into the Daily Sun. The AAC ordered research into cutting those costs.

Recreation Director John Rohan reported at Wednesday’s meeting that the page count has been reduced in Recreation News and efficiencies have been found.

District Manager Janet Tutt said that there has been about a 20 percent savings in the cost of the production of Recreation News.

Bell, well known for love of technology, suggested an app is possibly the solution to providing this type of information to residents. He called for a joint meeting with PWAC, which has authority over amenity money that also pays for Recreation News.

While other members of the AAC were open to the idea of the workshop, a date has not been set.
