Firefighters battle fire after three-vehicle crash on Interstate 75

Two people were transported by ambulance from the scene of a three-vehicle accident at 5:40 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 75 in Sumter County.

Sumter County Fire & EMS was called to the scene of the crash  in the area of Mile Marker 321 at the Lake Panasoffkee exit. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find three vehicles involved in the crash south of the exit, located in the north and southbound lanes, with one vehicle on its roof, and one vehicle on fire.

North and south bound traffic was blocked for 30 minutes. In all five individuals were involved in the accident. All had been wearing their seatbelts.
