Marion County Sheriff Chris Blair, who has advocated that citizens responsibly arm themselves in this new age of terrorism, will bring that message Thursday to The Villages.
Blair raised some eyebrows when he spoke in The Villages last year on the same topic. You can read about Blair’s town hall meeting last year in The Villages HERE
The sheriff will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday before the Villages Conservative Action Group. The group meets at Savannah Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. It is an open meeting and you do not need a Villages ID to attend.
Blair said mass shootings are becoming a seemingly everyday occurrence and that sometimes fighting back could help save lives.
“A lot can happen in the minutes it may take for us to respond to those in need, and to have someone there to bring the fight to the attacker may save lives,” Blair said.
