Stein Mart cashier arrested after allegedly taking $450 from cash register

A 23-year-old Stein Mart cashier is free on $2,000 bond following her arrest Tuesday on a charge of grand theft.

Candice Belle Benton of Mount Dora is accused of taking a total of $450 while working the register on two different days at the store in the Village Crossroads shopping center.

Video surveillance captured Benton taking the money, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

She was booked on a charge of grand theft at the Lake County Jail.
