FHP releases report from crash at U.S. 301 and County Road 472

The Florida Highway Patrol has released an accident report detailing a crash at U.S. 301 and County Road 472 that left several people seriously injured.

The accident occurred at 8:48 p.m. Oct. 18.

Villager Walter Salvadore, 78, had been driving a 2014  Hyundai Accent north on U.S. 301 when 16-year-old Hallie Katherine Shrader of Ocala driving a 2006 Ford Mustang ran a stop sign at CR472 and drove into the path of Salvadore’s vehicle, according to the FHP report.

Two passengers in Salvadore’s vehicle, 78-year-old Ann Salvadore of The Villages and 52-year-old Walter M. Salvadore of Pittsford, N.Y. were transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center.

Shrader and three passengers in her vehicle, 16-year-old Jane Lillian Todd, 17-year-old Brittany Billmer and 16-year-old Emily N. Quinland, all of Ocala, were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

That particular intersection has been the subject of great debate recently, as the Florida Department of Transportation wants to put a roundabout there.
