K-9 assists Sumter County sheriff’s deputy in methamphetamine arrest

A 22-year-old Wildwood woman was arrested early Wednesday morning after a Sumter County sheriff’s K-9 alerted on a vehicle.

Brittany Lynne Lewis is facing charges of drug possession and possession of drug equipment after a syringe believed to contain methamphetamine was wedged in the seat of her car, according to an arrest report.

Lewis told a deputy she does not use methamphetamine and there are many people who use her car.

She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $3,000.
