Our Children’s Educational Dream Inc. will be hosting its seventh annual “Back-to-School Event” Saturday, Aug. 1 at God’s Glory Ministries in Wildwood from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be plenty of fun for children, including moon bounces and clowns. A blood donation mobile will also be onsite..
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office will also be giving out backpacks and school supplies for children, while Melissa Ann Merritt, a victim’s advocate, and Deputy Higgins will be discussing bullying.
The central purpose of the event is to inform parents on how they can prevent bullying from occurring everywhere in the community starting in the household. There will also be tips on how parents can get involved in their children’s education and volunteer sheets at the registration to help out at their children’s respective schools.
All families are welcomed to the event and donated school supplies will be gratefully accepted.
